There is a reason why AE's reputation has been getting worse in recent years. I submitted my paper in August and it took four months for review. One reviewer recommended major revisions while the other suggested language polishing. After making the changes and resubmitting, the editor decided to have a new reviewer, who rejected the paper outright. This is really unacceptable
