Submitted 5 times, accepted 1 time. The research group is not well-known in domestic primary schools. This journal has very high requirements for manuscript quality, and the editors and reviewers are very professional and trustworthy. The last submission that was accepted took a lot of time and effort to polish. Previously, we received 2 revisions and 1 rejection from EES. After revisions, two other reviewers accepted it but the one who rejected it still rejected it, even though we addressed all of his questions. However, like the first round of reviews, the feedback this time was that our depth was not sufficient. The editor ultimately rejected it. We submitted to JEC, and we were a bit nervous about submitting to a domestic journal from a primary school. It was reviewed within 2 days, and we received feedback in over 40 days, requiring major revisions. The experimental revisions were challenging, but they indeed elevated the quality of the manuscript. After revisions, it was quickly accepted. Both the editor and reviewers were very efficient. Thank you, Professor Zhang Qiang, for giving us the opportunity to revise. You are a leading figure in the industry, and your handling of manuscripts is extremely efficient. Domestic journals are a bit tricky, and they tend to favor relationships. After being rejected twice and revised once by Angew, the revised article was submitted to three domestic journals of Elsevier. None of them even agreed to review it, and it was rejected outright by ordinary universities.

There were seven reviewers in total, with one providing very positive feedback with minor revisions, five suggesting revisions, and one rejecting the submission. The rejection comments from the reviewer only included two relatively mild suggestions. After making the necessary revisions, the submission will be resubmitted. I submitted my first paper to JEC, and the acceptance process was as follows:
- Submitted on July 6th
- Under review on July 7th, with the status changing twice to "rrc" in between
- Rejected on July 26th, with one major revision, one minor revision, and one rejection. The editor suggested rejecting and resubmitting the paper.
- Due to working on a summer research project, the characterization and testing were done slowly.
- Resubmitted on August 22nd, and under review the same day
- Rrc status on August 25th
- The date of rrc changed on September 1st
- Checked in the evening on September 2nd, and it was accepted!
It has been quite a journey, but the speed of the process was really fast. I am grateful for JEC's acceptance and wish the journal continued success!
Personal thoughts: After looking into this journal, it is considered one of the more reputable ones among domestic journals, similar to Nano Research. The number of published papers peaked in 2021 (700 papers), but it seems they are now focusing on quality over quantity, with just over 500 papers last year. I hope the impact factor can reach above 20 in the future, and I will continue to support it when I have the opportunity.
