Vehicle System Dynamics is an international journal, providing a source of information for the vehicle engineer and the applied scientist. The journal emphasizes the theoretical background of research and development problems of all kinds of road, rail and other ground-based vehicles. Main topics are: Dynamics of vehicle systems and their components including suspension, steering, braking, chassis systems, noise-vibration-harshness, power train; Control of motion and forces affecting vehicle behaviour; Computer aided modelling and simulation, validation, parameter identification and testing, driver modelling; Vehicle interactions with the environment including wheel-rail and tyre-ground behaviour; Active Safety Systems including collision and derailment warning, avoidance and mitigation; Intelligent vehicles, guided vehicles, automated traffic systems related to vehicle dynamics, unconventional vehicles.

Normally, it should take about 4 months to respond to the initial review comments, and the results will be given approximately 1-2 months after the revisions.

It has been almost 19 months. I submitted minor revisions in April, and it has been almost 5 months now without any news. I have sent reminders 3 times, but they still say the review process is normal. I really don't know how the editor can say that.

Submitted twice, not sent for review, both times were Desk Reject by the editor-in-chief within a week. Feels like the journal is not very interested in traditional vehicle system dynamics, but prefers new directions and cross-directions in the railway field (components, control, new algorithm types).

Also, based on feedback from colleagues who submitted to the same journal, the review process is particularly slow, with feedback taking 3-4 months to be returned

So slow, submitted on 2023.02.27, major revision on 23.09.28, minor revision on 10.23, editor kept it for a month and a half before sending it to reviewers. Sent to reviewers on 12.06, still no second review

The top journal in the field of rail transportation, with professional reviewers. The editor-in-chief, Simon Iwnicki, also handles manuscripts quickly.

The initial draft is to be submitted in October 2022. The first review comments will be returned in January 2023. The revised draft is to be submitted in February 2023. The second review comments will be returned in March 2023 (the reviewers are very strict with English and require professional editing). The revised draft for the second review will be accepted the day after submission.

Although the journal is ranked in the 3 districts in China, it has been in a district for several years abroad.It has not been submitted in the journal for many years.Tested last year, overhauled after 4 months, 2 reviewers.One person had different opinions on the manuscript, and the other basically agreed, and passed one month after the repair.

This journal is the top journal of railway vehicle dynamics. The editor-in-chief of the railway is Simon Iwnicki, the big man in the field. The reviewers generally look for the leading expert in the field.profession.

The reviewer's comments were obviously wrong. I described the details of the model details, proved the correctness of the model, and showed simulation details. I also explained my thoughts to the Editor-in-Chief, who promised to find another reviewer. After 3 months, my paper was rejected, based on the same reviewer’s negative comments. This reviewer didn’t even acknowledge that I had proved them (my tone was gentle in my responses), just mentioned another three reasons for rejecting my paper, saying that I did not define a term. In fact, I spent an entire section to define that term. Even more ridiculous is that they said the shape of my frequency domain curve was more like a vertical vibration response curve, so it should not be the yaw response. Just because chopsticks are straight, so everything else can’t be straight? What logic is this? Other reviewers did not have any comments. The Editor-in-Chief eventually decided to reject my paper, saying that this reviewer paid more attention to this article than other reviewers. So now VSD is on my blacklist.

encountered a wonderful reviewer, and the editor is also awkward.Three consecutive shots, each review period is 3 months.For the first time, a reviewer agreed that a reviewer strongly rejected that a reviewer suggested that the language needs to be revised.The foreigner re-submited after optimizing the language, and in particular, part of the rejection of the second reviewer accepted the revised article, and part of the misunderstanding and conclusion explained.Three months later, the reviewer did not agree with it. He avoided the incorrect place in his reply and said that he had reached the conclusion. He revisited other questions and once again reached a conclusion and said that there was a problem with my model.Some things do not conform to the laws of physics.The editor-in-chief respects his opinions, rejects the manuscript, and gives me the opportunity to let me re-enter.

The review period is about 2 months, and the volume of each issue is seven or eight.The reviewers are all big bulls in the industry, and the opinions are pertinent.The same theory differs from engineering applications and therefore rejects the manuscript.

monthly journal, monthly volume is not publishedLarge, 5~8 articles per issue. In 2010, there were 2 more posts per issue than in 2009. From submission to hair, it usually takes about 1 year and a half.
