Last year I submitted to journal in March and it took 7 months. It's now mid-April this year

Submitted on November 30, 2023, it is now April 8 and still With Editor. It feels like this journal is going to close down, dropping from Q2 to Q3 and with such slow processing speed. Contacted Elsevier twice to urge the submission, but no avail

The speed is really slow, suggest avoiding pitfall. Submitted in early April 23, it has always been in with editor status, never entered external review status, sending a reminder email every month only received an official reply, and was rejected without reason after 4 months. Later resubmitted to C&G and was accepted after three months
