First submission to this journal, received comments in about 20 days for the first time, with only one reviewer. The comments were mainly about content modifications and the addition of a small experiment. The editor rejected the paper but allowed for resubmission after modifications. I made the revisions and resubmitted. It has been over four months since the submission, and there has been no response. I have sent reminders for a week, but there has been no reply. During this period, the status changed from "under review" to "required review completed," but after some time, it changed back to "under review." I'm not sure if anyone has encountered a similar situation. I'm quite anxious. Should I send another reminder?

The review process takes about 20 days. The submission was made on October 8th, and major revisions were given on October 28th. Revisions were returned on November 14th, and minor revisions were made on December 4th. The same day, further revisions were made, and acceptance was received on December 6th.
The review was very meticulous, and the editor also helped to fix many minor issues.

I submitted my work in March this year, and the review process was fast. It took about 20 days for the review, and there were two reviewers who provided non-binding opinions that could be modified. However, the editor directly said that it couldn't be published and rejected it. I feel quite frustrated and don't know the reason why.

This article has gone through many ups and downs, and it was submitted during my work period. Looking back, it was a unique experience to go home alone after work and revise the paper. Finally, I can say that my efforts have paid off.

The journal is an established European journal, and the efficiency of the editors is relatively high. The reviewers' questions were fair, with a total of 43 comments from three individuals. Due to work reasons, the revisions took longer, otherwise, it could have been published earlier.

Lastly, I wish the journal continued success and improvement!

However, seeing myself suddenly enlightened at this moment, I wish myself good luck and smooth submission. Keep going, zy!

Two days after submission, the reply of the editor was received. There were some errors in the format of the references. It was soon sent for review after the submission of revision, showing that the editor-in-chief Mr. Zhong was responsible for it. I heard that Mr. Zhong is very strict with domestic articles, but fortunately it went smoothly. It was soon sent for review after revising the format, and the result was returned in a month. It was not said whether minor revision or major revision was required. I was given two months for revision. There were three reviewers, who were very responsible. One of the reviewers raised many good suggestions from the wording and method content of the article. And the comments of the other two reviewers were relatively simple, adding up to more than 30. 5 days after submission of revision, it showed in the email that the article was accepted. The editor is very capable. PB focuses on application, the self-citation rate is not high, and the articles published per year are not many. The impact factor is always around 3, it has not upgraded to Q2 since it was included in Q3 in 2015. The quality of the articles is good. I don't know why it has dropped. It took about 4 months from submission to acceptance. The speed of the editor is fast, and I look forward to seeing it be included to Q2 again.

Received feedback in less than a month, not sure if it requires major or minor revisions, but it is a decision to revise. One of the reviewers gave 68 minor comments (very carefully correcting grammar and providing suggestions, even helping with the reference list in the last round, super nice)!!! Returned for revisions after 2 weeks, then did some minor revisions again, and finally accepted after a total of 3-4 months (considered quite fast in my personal opinion, as the review process for microbiology-related topics tends to be slower). The editor is very nice, working basically every day, even working on weekends and nights. Moreover, I would like to express my gratitude to Xiaoyao-Li (executive editor) and Jianjiang-Zhong (editor-in-chief) from Tsinghua University Shenzhen Research Institute, they are very meticulous and provide excellent suggestions. Personally, I feel that the journal is more oriented towards practical applications and values innovation. Although it is in the third tier, I feel that this journal is quite popular in China. I have seen many experts who have published in top-tier journals also include this journal in their list of achievements, so it can be considered as one of the top third-tier journals. It is expected to move to the second tier next year, and it seems to be approaching the first tier in terms of JCR impact factor

One of the reviewers gave 68 small comments (particularly carefully revised the grammar point by point, gave comments, and even helped to revise the references in the last time, was invincible nice)!!! Revision was submitted in 2 weeks, then minor revision was required, and finally it was accepted. It took a total of 3–4 months (I personally feel that it is fast, because the review cycle of the environmental microbiology field is relatively slow). The editor is very nice, basically go to work every day, even in the evenings and weekends. In addition, I am very grateful to Professor Xiaoyao Li (Executive Editor) and Editor-in-Chief Jianjiang Zhong of Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. They were very careful and gave good suggestions. Personally, I feel that PB still a little bit focuses on application and take innovation seriously. Although it is in Q3, I personally feel that this journal is still very popular in China. I have seen many experts who publish in EM AEM had put publication in this journal in their achievements. It is also considered to be the top of Q3 journals. It is expected next year to be categorized in Q2 (Chinese Academy of Sciences), and approaching Q1 of JCR.

I submitted my paper on November 19th last year and received reviewer comments in less than 40 days. Four reviewers provided feedback and gave me two months to make revisions. After submitting the revisions, it was accepted in approximately 10 days. Overall, the process was quite fast
