PLOS Computational Biology features works of exceptional significance that further our understanding of living systems at all scales—from molecules and cells, to patient populations and ecosystems—through the application of computational methods. Readers include life and computational scientists, who can take the important findings presented here to the next level of discovery.

Research articles must be declared as belonging to a relevant section. More information about the sections can be found in the submission guidelines.

Research articles should model aspects of biological systems, demonstrate both methodological and scientific novelty, and provide profound new biological insights.

Generally, reliability and significance of biological discovery through computation should be validated and enriched by experimental studies. Inclusion of experimental validation is not required for publication, but should be referenced where possible. Inclusion of experimental validation of a modest biological discovery through computation does not render a manuscript suitable for PLOS Computational Biology.

Research articles specifically designated as Methods papers should describe outstanding methods of exceptional importance that have been shown, or have the promise to provide new biological insights. The method must already be widely adopted, or have the promise of wide adoption by a broad community of users. Enhancements to existing published methods will only be considered if those enhancements bring exceptional new capabilities.

At present, it is a highly recognized journal in the field of computational biology. The first submission was rejected by the editor in a second, and the second submission was accepted after revision. This journal has very high requirements on the content, methods, and presentation of papers. The number of papers published every year is relatively stable, and there are relatively few domestic papers. The annual impact factor is not very high, relatively stable.

It is one of the relatively recognized journals in computational biology. I am lucky to have an article published on it. The reviewers were very professional and were very helpful in improving the quality of the article. The editor was also very nice and responded to the replies in time. I support it.

The review speed was really fast. I submitted an article for graduation. Major revision was making. It can be seen that the reviewers give suggestions from different fields. Compared with Bioinformatics, you need to pay for it.

This is a better biology journal (it is said to be ranked second in computational biology journals in 2012). I had to be sure to find someone to edit the English writing for my paper before I submitted my manuscript. In terms of the submission cycle: The first step was the editorial invitation and the preliminary examination (about 10 days); then the external review, three reviewers participated (took about 1 month); according to the comments of the reviewers, usually a deadline is given; the second review portion was faster (about ten days); then the editorial decision phase (about 10 days); finally, you will be notified of the payment and official publication time…In addition, the journal requires contributors to typeset their own figures etc., which can be a bit of work.

good journal of bioinformatics and computational biology, selectd 3, two trialsAccepted after the draft, rejected after a review.Compared with other bioinformatics journals, PCBs pay more attention to the refinement of biological problems, and have higher requirements on the story line. In addition, the statistical requirements for methodological innovation articles are more stringent.

A very difficult journal.Of particular concern to algorithms, it should not be the same as bioinformatics algorithms, and is a journal of computational biology.There are also several computational analysis of apparent aspects.The rate of rejection of academic cattle is close to 95%.
