Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion covers all aspects of the physics of hot, highly ionised plasmas. This includes results of current experimental and theoretical research on all aspects of the physics of high-temperature plasmas and of controlled nuclear fusion, including the basic phenomena in highly-ionised gases in the laboratory, in the ionosphere and in space, in magnetic-confinement and inertial-confinement fusion as well as related diagnostic methods.

Papers with a technological emphasis, for example in such topics as plasma control, fusion technology and diagnostics, are welcomed when the plasma physics is an integral part of the paper or when the technology is unique to plasma applications or new to the field of plasma physics. Papers on dusty plasma physics are welcome when there is a clear relevance to fusion.

I do research in high energy density physics. The impact factor of PPCF briefly went up to 7 in 2017, and it has gradually dropped to around 2.8 in the past two years. It can be regarded as a very good Q2 journal in high energy density physics field. The review speed of this journal needs to be improved, and I hope that it can get better and better in the future.

This is one of the top journals in controlled nuclear fusion (high temperature plasma); the influence factor is 2.466 (2011).The review speed is generally high. My article was submitted at the end of September 2009, and the review comments were received in early December. The revised draft was submitted in mid-December and received within a few days after the minor repair in late January 2010. The proof arrived about one week later.
