Trash journals, transferred from another journal on June 6th, submitted for review on the 10th, and received reviewer's comments on August 12th. Two reviewers, one minor revision and one rejection, the editor directly gave a rejection, I want to say the reviewer who gave the rejection is an idiot, dragging out for two months and asking six irrelevant questions, even for a major revision, it is considered excessive. Also, if you want to reject, you should have rejected earlier, dragging out for two months for others. Lastly, this is truly a trash journal, you will only be a Q2 for the rest of your life, I kindly advise everyone to seriously consider before submitting to this journal

Why was there a change in the new editor-in-chief this time? After checking, it was found that Professor Giovanni Zangari (Editor for Electrochemistry) is no longer a member of the journal's editorial board in 2023, and has been replaced by Editor-in-Chief Prof. R. Ubic, who directly rejected the submission. There is suspicion as to why there was no feedback for revision in the second review in December, possibly due to issues during the transition of personnel. Regarding Prof. R. Ubic, there are many comments "greeting" him. If you are considering submitting to Materials Research Bulletin, please be cautious, as I have experienced a major setback. It took 7 months, from September 8, 2022, when I first submitted, to the final rejection on March 26, 2023, causing significant delays.

The reason for the rejection is that your manuscript has been reviewed and may be published in the "Materials Research Bulletin". "Materials Research Bulletin" only publishes a small portion of the submitted manuscripts, which represent those articles that are most likely to have a significant impact and generate widespread interest in the field of materials chemistry. Unfortunately, based on the confidential opinions of the following review results and expert reviewers regarding relevance, impact, quality, novelty, etc., I regret to inform you that we cannot ultimately accept your manuscript for publication.

December 22, 2022, the second review ended, and Giovanni Zangari, the editor-in-chief, gave feedback for revisions (system shows "Revise"). The deadline for revisions is February 19, 2023.
Something strange happened: the system showed the need for revisions, but the email sent by the editor did not include any revision comments.
On December 23, 2022, Christmas Day, an email was sent to the journal inquiring about the second review feedback. On December 29, Elsevier Researcher Support replied, stating that they were informing the editor, but then there was no further communication.
On January 17, 2023, another email was sent through the submission system to inquire about the revision feedback. On January 18, Elsevier Researcher Support replied, stating that they were coordinating with the editor, but still no response was received.
On February 1, 2023, a third email was sent to the editor inquiring about the second review feedback. Finally, on February 4, the second review feedback was received. Upon opening it, it was discovered that it was the review comments from the second reviewer in the first review's PDF version. At that moment, the journal editor was directly confronted.

The second reviewer not only provided review comments in the email but also separately provided a PDF with review comments. However, Giovanni Zangari, the editor-in-chief, did not include it in the initial email, and it took three days to request it from the journal during the revision process. The revision time was two months, with a deadline of December 12, 2022.
