This is the first time I submitted to this journal. But it is a little slow. It has been almost 2 months, and the result of first review has not returned yet.

Let me talk about this IOP journal, for your reference. From 2018 to 2020, I submitted 3 sensor papers to MEMS, 2 of which were accepted. There were 2 reviewers. At least one of them was quite professional. Generally speaking, the review was quite in place, and the requirements for the adequacy of the experiment were relatively high. Usually, the first review comments were returned in about one and a half months, and the final acceptance was received within three months. By enumerating the time and serial number of 2 submissions, the approximate acceptance rate can be calculated. Submission time 2019-01-31, number 104093. Submission time 2019-12-04, number 104601. It can be calculated that the number of submissions within 10 months is 508, and the number of submissions a year is 610. About 247 articles were published in 2018. Considering the incompleteness of statistics, the acceptance rate is conservatively estimated to be 35%.

My article was biased toward numerical simulation. When I submitted the manuscript for the first time, it was edited and rejected because there was no experimental verification. But the editor suggested that if I added experimental verification, I could resubmit in response to the review. So, I found the experimental results in the literature for comparison. After submitting the revision, I received the review comments in one month. After minor revisions, it was accepted. The editing efficiency is very high, but the reviewer's speed is slow. After the reviewer submits the review, the editor can notify the author on the same day.
