Submitted the first draft on October 22, 2019, with four rounds of revisions, the first major revision, the second minor revision, and two additional revisions due to language and detail issues. Due to the slow reviewing process, it has become very laid-back. Finally, it was accepted on January 1, 2021, making the entire process last for 14 months and 9 days. Such a speed is difficult for many people to tolerate. In reality, JM has a very low publication volume each year, but the quality of the published papers varies, indicating that traditional journals are facing fierce challenges to their source of manuscripts. Hopefully, JM can avoid sinking.

In recent years, under the impact of various new publications, it has to be said that JM is somewhat less prominent. However, the prestige is still there. From the efficiency of the paper editorial review process to the professional meticulousness of the reviewers, we can see the pursuit of quality by the journal. I think if they are willing to adopt the "your paper, your way" approach like some publications, and relax some formatting requirements for the initial submission, more people will be willing to submit to the journal.
