It's such a piece of garbage, I advise everyone to be cautious when submitting. I submitted on October 10, 2023, and it was sent back for revisions on November 2. The editor described it in this way, and it was accepted after modifications. After submitting the revisions, it was in the state of inviting reviewers for several months. On March 4, 2024, the external reviewer recommended acceptance, but on March 28, the editor rejected it, citing that it was not within the journal's scope of coverage!!!

On the morning of September 26th, I sent a withdrawal letter, and then the article was withdrawn. In the evening of September 26th, I checked the article status page and found that the article status had been changed to "withdrawn successfully". However, the article status page showed that on August 15th, the editors had agreed to publish the article, but neither I (the corresponding author) nor my co-authors received any notification, and the article status page had never shown that the editors had agreed to publish. It has been so long and Hindawi has been dragging the quality check process

Update on progress. It has been over half a year since submission, with one round of normal external review (minor revisions) and two rounds of revisions (both with minor revisions).

Since July 24th, it has been Pending approval (52 days). I sent an email to help@hindawi.com and they replied that it is currently in a new stage - quality check (although it will not be reflected in the article status). I saw on letpub that a friend's Hindawi article was Pending approval for 5 months due to quality check and eventually withdrew.

Five big words to describe Hindawi: garbage to eat shit

I am a pure graduate student who submitted my paper on the official website. After submission, I didn't do anything else, but my paper was labeled with "problems with peer review" by Hindawi twice. The key point is that after the first round of review, Hindawi suspected that there might be potential issues with their full control over the review process, so they required another round of review? This is really impressive. Moreover, I have appealed countless times, but each time I received a template response, asking me to wait for notification.
