The Journal of Cereal Science was established in 1983 to provide an International forum for the publication of original research papers of high standing covering all aspects of cereal science related to the functional and nutritional quality of cereal grains (true cereals - members of the Poaceae family and starchy pseudocereals - members of the Amaranthaceae, Chenopodiaceae and Polygonaceae families) and their products, in relation to the cereals used. The journal also publishes concise and critical review articles appraising the status and future directions of specific areas of cereal science and short communications that present news of important advances in research. The journal aims at topicality and at providing comprehensive coverage of progress in the field.

Major revisions were made once, with feedback from three reviewers. There were quite a few issues and it was really difficult to make the changes.
Minor revisions were made once, with feedback from two reviewers. There were no major issues and it was accepted shortly after resubmission.
The process took about four to five months, but it was finally accepted

Submission Guidelines: Papers must contain a maximum of 6000 words of text, no more than six tables or figures, and up to 30 references. I understand that the full text should not exceed 6000 words, excluding references. As of October 8, 2023, my paper is still under review

This is a classic magazine in the field of grains, but the review process is too slow. Submitted on 22nd February 2023; under review by editor on 18th March 2023; there were several changes during the review period. I sent two reminder letters at the end of June and August respectively, but there has been no substantial progress, so all I can do is wait

This should also be considered a classic crop science journal, but the reviewing process is incredibly slow! I submitted my manuscript on May 10th, inquired with the editor in July, found out there was one reviewer's comments, and now it's September, and it's still under review. Guess I'll keep waiting

Submitted in November 22nd, underwent major revisions in June, and returned the manuscript in July. It has been a month at the editor's without any changes, despite reminders. I'm not sure if it's because of the summer break, but it's really slow.

It was submitted on May 8, review began on May 20, reviewing comments came out on June 10, requiring major revisions. The manuscript returned on July 10. On July 15 re-examination results came out, requiring minor revisions. The revised manuscript returned on July 21, it was received on July 22, and retrieved online on July 24. There is a DOI number. After proofreading, I am currently waiting for publication.

The review speed was very fast and you can choose an editor. So Professor John Taylor was selected according to the recommendation of netizens. The result of the first review was issued within one month, requiring a major revision; I returned the revised manuscript within two days. I thought there would be a second external review, but I didn’t expect a direct acceptance; the proof stage lasted half a month after the acceptance, and it is currently to be published.

2019.09.02 submission; 2019.10.02 four review comments returned, major revision required, questions answered without additional experimentation; 2019.10.04 revised submission; 2019.10.06 review comments returned. The editor-in-chief raised three minor issues and requested minor revisions. We returned it at noon that day. Then we received an email reminder of Sent to Production at 5:30 pm on 2019.10.06. This is the fastest time of my articles from submission to acceptance of about 35 days. The content is not deep, but I think it is very innovative, and the reviewers agree with the work. Thank you to my boss of the research group for your help in writing the article and replying to the review comments. After reading the boss's response, I felt it is awesome. The writing is very comfortable. There are requirements for the format of this journal, with no more than 5 figures and tables in total, and no more than 30 references. The laboratory has published three papers in the past two years, and another one is under review. This journal is fast.
