It took seven months for the first review to come back, and after an anxious wait, today finally received the decision, which was a rejection. There were a total of six reviewers, and their comments were almost useless, with some even laughable. One reviewer said that the problems I researched had already been done by others, and then listed some methods used in my paper, claiming they belonged to someone else. Another reviewer said my work lacked innovation, and suggested I submit it to a certain journal because I referenced many papers from that journal. There was also criticism that I did not apply my research to practical systems. The other comments were just clichés about what to highlight. Spending seven months to receive such a result is hard to accept. The claim that my work lacks innovation is the reason I cannot and do not want to accept. I carefully derived this paper, came up with some good methods to compare with existing literature. After writing it, I revised it meticulously with my teachers and classmates, emphasizing my innovative and challenging points, yet it was still rejected for lacking innovation.
