The IEEE Transactions on Robotics (T-RO) publishes fundamental papers on all aspects of Robotics, featuring interdisciplinary approaches from computer science, control systems, electrical engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and other fields. Robots and intelligent machines and systems are critical in areas such as industrial applications; service and personal assistants; surgical operations; space, underwater, and remote exploration; entertainment; safety, search, and rescue; military applications; agriculture applications; and intelligent vehicles. Special emphasis in the T-RO is placed on intelligent machines and systems for unstructured environments, where a significant portion of the environment is unknown and cannot be directly sensed or controlled.

TRO and IJRR are recognized as the top journals in robotics. In the past, being able to publish in one of them was big news within the community. Now, with the improvement of domestic research levels, it is no longer as difficult to publish in TRO, and most major research groups in robotics will have several articles published. The first review took four months for major revisions, but the progress was slow due to the school closure caused by the epidemic. The second review took two months and was directly accepted.

The classification of the Chinese Academy of Sciences itself is a joke. Journal IoT, a pure water journal, has published over 1700 articles a year and has become a top tier journal in Zone 1. Our top journals in the field are only like this, but it's not too depressing. Look at the top journals in integrated circuit design and solid-state circuit journals, they have it even worse.

IEEE TRO, this prestigious journal, has a well-known reputation with a percentile ranking as high as 98%. Before the emergence of Science Robotics, it was almost the only one in its class (compared to IJRR). It is now considered one of the top-tier journals alongside Science Robotics and IJRR. However, it is surprisingly listed as a second-tier journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. What a joke! This also shows that the classification system of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is a joke too!

Submission results will be given after three months. Since the topic is about robot positioning and navigation, the peer review comments were highly professional and constructive. There were a total of 27 comments from three reviewers. The response to the peer review comments spanned 29 pages. I feel that the review comments were very helpful in improving the quality of the manuscript.

A top journal in the robotics field. The review comments just came back yesterday. The first review took two and a half months, and it was suggested to reject and resubmit. Three reviewers, 22 comments. The opinions felt relatively friendly. Come on! I’m just come here to gather some good luck.

First review lasted 4 months, and it was directly conditionally accepted; second review lasted 2 months, and it was accepted. Compared with some other high-impact factor Trans series valueless journals, where a paper with figures simulated in matlab that can be accepted, the paper published in this journal must present excellent experiments and provide actual demos. This should be the style that top journals should have.
