Acceptance was very unexpected! I was terrified when I saw the revision slot empty, and I was worried that it was another rejection. The editor made the decision without waiting for the last opinion to come back (because I heard that some journals will not rescue if there is a rejection after the second round of review). Now it seems that the second round of review only had 7 days, and the last opinion exceeded the deadline, or the editor saw that the reviewer who rejected also gave an accept, so the decision was made directly.

The experience was very good, the editor processed it quickly, and all the reviewers were very nice (including the ones who rejected, maybe they saw the other reviewers' comments were more positive, so they agreed directly in the second round of review).

I consider myself quite lucky, as I received acceptance in two months, while some of my peers who submitted around the same time still have no results. 06.16 Major Revision (2 minor 2 major 1 reject, the editor gave a month for major revisions. Both major revisions raised 10 questions, mostly asking for additional small experiments to be conducted. One experiment could not be conducted, so a literature was cited; minor revisions raised some issues, mostly regarding formatting; the rejected revision had some critical feedback, but it was clear and professional, asking for an experiment to be conducted, as well as 2 questions and 1 innovative question. Luckily, the experiments that needed to be conducted were already completed while writing the thesis, so the revisions were completed in 7 days.

On April 26th, three people returned the revised manuscript. One of them had no major comments, just some supplementary experiments needed. Another person had a lot of opinions and suggested rejection. The comments pointed out that the reviewer had mistaken the abbreviation of the sample, and there were also some issues with my own descriptions. The third person had moderate comments, required supplementary experiments, and answered some questions. We were given two months to make revisions, possibly to include in vivo experiments
