Accepted in 48 days, with a lineup of all undergraduate students. The paper was written in sophomore year and accepted in junior year.

Submitted on September 18th, received by the editor on September 19th, external review on the same day. Around October 10th, the process of external review and revisions began, with four reviewers - 2 major revisions and 2 minor revisions. A reviewer sent the paper back for revisions and within 15 minutes of resubmission, they agreed to accept it, which was quite strange. Another reviewer had their qualification revoked by the editor for not responding to revisions for half a day. Accepted on November 5th, while still attending professional classes in the afternoon.

The publication fee was 22,000 RMB, luckily divided among several authors. Overall, getting published in this journal wasn't too difficult, but not easy either. The impact factor has been declining over the past two years, but unexpectedly this year, it is predicted to be at least 4 and could even reach 5 next year. The citation scores on Scopus are now at 6.7, compared to around 4 in previous years. However, it is still advised not to submit to open access journals if possible. Publishing one paper with MDPI or Frontiers is enough, submitting too many is just a joke. Despite their explanations online, the fact that these two journals are of low quality cannot be washed away, especially when undergraduate students can get published in them.
