Submission to AM was rejected, so I revised it extensively and added data from another small article I had been holding back. I submitted it to Science Advances on March 3rd, and it is still under evaluation as of today, March 6th. It is said that due to Trump's plan to cut government funding to AAAS, SA will increase its acceptance rate this year to support the journal. I hope they will give me a chance to pay the publication fee. As it is a shared first authorship, according to our school's regulations, publications in journals such as AM, SA, NC, NBE, JACS, and Angew will not have points deducted. However, if the journal is Biomaterials, AFM, or AS, the points will be halved, and our group does not cover AS publication fees, only SA and NC.

I have published two papers and the review process was quite fast. Previously, I thought top journals were out of reach. They prioritize innovation, so there's no point in submitting hastily revised work. As an editor in my field, I can appeal a rejection with valid reasons. I hope to aim for higher-level journals.

The submission was made on November 20th, and the status has been showing "from author, assigned to Editor" ever since. It is still the same status as of today, January 9th, and I don't know the reason why. On December 20th, I received a message from the editorial department saying they were processing it.

I sent an email to the editorial coordinator, and it turns out one of the reviewers hasn't finished reviewing yet. The coordinator has informed the reviewer, so now it's "From all reviewers." I estimate we will have the results after the holiday ends.
