The editor said that I could transfer my paper from chempluschem (cpc is very fast, it came back in less than a month), and that they would consider accepting it depending on the situation. The editor's feedback from cpc was just minor revisions, adding a bit of experimental data and text descriptions.

Confidently, I transferred my paper to this journal. However, they found new reviewers for my paper, delaying the process by four months. I am graduating in June this year, and today the revised manuscript came back with major revisions, additional experiments and characterizations. I am confused - did I submit to a Q4 or a Q2 journal? Adding all these experiments could get me published in a Q2. With this one paper, adding all these experiments, and dealing with various issues during my graduation, as well as the delay in the review process, I am certain that I will have to postpone my graduation.
