I want to ask what the process is after submitting to this journal. A few days after "with editor" it changed to "under review," and shortly after that it changed to "awaiting recommendation." It has been a week now and it is still "awaiting recommendation." Does anyone know what is going on?

Originally in the process of revising and resubmitting for the second time in Plant Cell Reports, my supervisor saw a call for papers from HR that happened to fit our research direction, so we submitted to HR. It was submitted on March 24th, after two months of review, major revisions were suggested on May 23rd, giving us two months to make revisions. We completed the revisions by the end of July. However, I was a bit slow on my end, and ended up making revisions and figures in the last two to three weeks. Surprisingly, after about half a month of review, it stayed "with editor" the whole time, and when I checked on August 22nd, it was already in the "Accepted" status. Overall, the whole process took 5 months, with one and a half months being delayed due to lack of time, but everything went very smoothly

The opinions of the two reviewers are contradictory, so another reviewer will be sought. Alternatively, if the opinions given by the two reviewers are perfunctory, another reviewer will be found. In short, the editor has a favorable impression of your manuscript, otherwise it would have been rejected.
