Submitted on 29th June 23.7.17 Rejected for formatting issues and resubmitted; Submitted on 8th August 23.8.21 Requested for public data, under review in September. Two reviewers took 2 months for review, editor took 1 month for decision. Major revisions requested on 6th December 23, only minor changes are required by the two reviewers, no questions on the experiment. Revision requested on 31st December 23, rejected on 16th March 24. Editor took 3 weeks for decision, Reviewer 2 agreed to accept, Reviewer 1 suddenly had doubts on our experimental design, why not question during initial review? Made insulting comments and requested rejection. Editor rejected without any comments. Letter to argue was ignored, a year of a Ph.D. student was delayed by this rubbish journal, transferred to a better journal in microbiome, accepted in a month and a half! With such reckless operation from the editor, irresponsible behavior, unsure of the future of this journal, editor Martin Larsen! Martin Larsen! Martin Larsen! Really causing harm! No response to inquiry, delay, or arguing letters, be prepared for possible rejection after a year of dealing with this editor!

Very slow, the first feedback took more than 90 days, and the revision took two weeks. After the resubmission, it was accepted directly, but the process took another two months. After two days, proof was provided, but it took another 50 days for it to be published online. In total, it took 7 months, and this was considered a smooth process. I suggest allowing at least 1 year for submitting to this journal

No change. Looking at other journals under BMC, some submissions may have their status changed to 1Reviewer(s) accepted even after passing technical checks with the message: "Your submission has passed technical checks. The editors' decision can take several weeks as they may consult peer reviewers." This change in the submission system by Springer Nature has left us unaware of whether our manuscript has been assigned an editor, sent for review, or how many reviewers were invited and accepted for review, etc. Quite frustrating

My CURRENT STATUS has been at the stage of "Your submission has passed technical checks. The editors' decision can take several weeks as they may consult peer reviewers." for two months. I wanted to ask if this means it has been sent for peer review? In the experience shared by someone in 2022, it was mentioned that when a submission is sent for review, there would be a prompt indicating the invitation of several reviewers. I am not sure if the interface for the review process in 2024 has been updated. I would appreciate it if anyone who has recently had their submission accepted could share their experience.
