Even if a member of the Academy directly submits it, the work of the Academy's students is much stronger than that of the average group, and the quality of the articles is better than that of Science Advances and Cell Reports. The journal PNAS is actually a bit quirky.

In April 2014, the National Academy of Sciences elected 105 new members, which is the highest honor for a scientist. However, the benefit that comes with it is that members can submit four papers each year to the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences through a "special submission process." received April 15, 2022; accepted November 18, 2022. The first review lasted for a full 5 months. I dared not ask during this period, and it was a time of torment. Fortunately, the feedback from the first review required major revisions, which allowed me to conduct experiments for nearly two months (due to the school closure caused by the epidemic). This is the first article of my doctoral period, and I am fortunate to have it published in PNAS. I am grateful to my supervisor and every person who helped me during the period of responding to the review comments. I hope that my future work will be better recognized by PNAS
