Food Microbiology publishes original research articles, short communications, review papers, letters, news items and book reviews dealing with all aspects of the microbiology of foods. The editors aim to publish manuscripts of the highest quality which are both relevant and applicable to the broad field covered by the journal. Studies must be novel, have a clear connection to food microbiology, and be of general interest to the international community of food microbiologists. The editors make every effort to ensure rapid and fair reviews, resulting in timely publication of accepted manuscripts.

The editor of this journal is very unprofessional. We have submitted to another journal before, received major revision, but when we received the feedback, the reviewers didn't even look at our response and repeated the same comments from the first time. Later, we submitted to food microbiology and found out that the editor was the same reviewer (because they gave the same comments again), and the paper was rejected without being sent for review.

An article on the type of food decay was submitted to 4 different journals, with 3 being desk rejected. After being rejected by IJFM after external review, there was no choice but to reluctantly submit it to FM, where it was finally accepted.

The review coincided with the Chinese New Year, it took two and a half months, and after some minor revisions, the article was accepted for resubmission just 2 days later. The editor-in-chief was very responsible, raised very professional questions, and patiently explained the issues in the article. Their warm attitude was particularly heartwarming, and the overall speed of the review process was fast. This well-established journal is trustworthy

A study on food spoilage was submitted in November 23, revised in January 24, with 20 days given by the editor for revisions. The submission process for this article was quite bumpy, being rejected several times, especially by several journals in the food field such as FMI, IJFM, and Food Control, all of which were tried but felt unfriendly, especially Food Control. The formatting was repeatedly changed for almost a month, but no matter how it was changed, it did not meet the requirements of the journal. Finally, after it was painstakingly revised, the editor rejected it without sending it for review. Prior to this, concerns were raised about the slow review process in food microbiology, so as a last resort, this journal was reluctantly submitted, and the review process was quick and efficient. It is worth a try

There are too few people sharing their experiences, perhaps because there are not many articles published in journals, so naturally there won't be many Chinese people either. The editor of my article is an old expert in this field from the United States, who also serves as a reviewer, along with two other reviewers. ConnectIt can be seen that this editor compares the turtles, and then he is directly responsible for the steps of proof reading.Unlike other journals, his review may start to grind details at the time of Minor's revision.After finishing the details, I entered the proof reading.In contrast, other journals I selectd for changed the part of the proof reading, and then waited for 1-4 weeks.FM seems to be quite conscience at this point.FM is a top-level journal with a high level of reviewers and a high level of editing.The process is slow, and the big cows have their own arrangements.Try not to post in the past when the professors are busiest (flying around the world from May to August) and when they are on holiday (Christmas/Thanksgiving), they are either flying or solving the delays.It is more appropriate to choose the semester.I wish to see friends can be in!

My paper accepted here was actually submitted here after it was rejected by Food Control (the content of the manuscript does not meet the scope of the journal). Sometimes it is may not be a bad thing to have a paper rejected. Don't be too disappointed. Just try another journal. Now my paper is accepted at a journal better than Food Control. Submitted in September 2017, about a week under review. At the beginning of December 2017, the decision of major revision was given. The revisions were made to make the article clearer and more in-depth. It took me more than a month to revise it. January 17, 2018 Submitted revised manuscript; March 1, 2018 Reviewers have no comments. The editor gave some comments related to text revision, about 10 comments. March 2, 2018 Submitted the revised article; On March 2, 2018, the editor sent it back and said that my revision was still not easy to understand and asked me try rewording it. There were also minor comments on revising the tables, a total of five comments. March 3, 2018 Submitted, and then it was accepted. March 4, 2018 The article proof was sent to my mailbox.

The article is quite new to me and the content is enough.Unfortunately, I met a strong opponent of reviewers.There are 30 NOs in the entire review, and there are many other negative words such as meaningless, useless and other very rude negative words.That must be rejected, so the submission is still a bit of luck.Because the field is relatively small, it is probably possible to guess who the judge is. If the article has not been modified, it will be submitted out to another journal, and the judges will be excluded, hoping to get a more objective evaluation.

After I wrote the reminder letter to the editor, I sent it to the external audit the next day and I am still waiting.The editor-in-chief said in the reply letter of the reminder that there are too many manuscripts, and they can't be dealt with, forgive me!
