After two months of submission, received major revisions comments, the reviewer was very good at PUA, in short, the overall direction was fine, but a lot of detailed suggestions were given. After one month of major revisions, waited for almost half a year, probably the original reviewer could not be found, and had to go through two more rounds of major revisions, only to be rejected directly by the editor-in-chief. It is suggested not to submit to this journal if your study leans towards engineering applications, as the reviewer's questions were very amateurish.

I couldn't get in touch with the original reviewer, so I had to change to a new one for the second review. I've been waiting for 4 months for the second review. I'm really scared that the original reviewer has disappeared!

It's been about a month and a half, but I am awaiting reviewer scores. In the old system, I could check the status of the review, the first review took about two months, then awaiting AE recommendation, followed by awaiting DE recommendation, and finally awaiting EIC decision. In fact, the handling by the associate editor, editor, and chief editor is relatively fast, adding up to only about a week. I suspect the slow process may be due to difficulty in finding reviewers. After my major revisions, one of the reviewers could not be contacted and had to be replaced, leading to a 4-month wait for the second review before ultimately being accepted. I suggest you can send a polite email to inquire with the editor, usually they will give you a response. Good luck!
