It must be said that the peer review process of ACS journals is one of the most rigorous and fair platforms among several major publishers. As a well-established top journal, ACS AMI focuses on biomedical engineering sub-journals, and its quality and reputation are at the upper-middle level among existing journals. However, due to the initial focus on ACS ABM in the layout of ACS biomedical engineering series journals, and the citation rate has not been ideal, it is said that the entry of ACS ABM into the SCIE list has been delayed. But now it seems that the strategy has backfired. It is expected to enter the SCIE list soon, and the quality of the articles inside is indeed very good. Currently, the research results in ACS ABM are comparable to RSC's Journal of Materials Chemistry B, and in some aspects, they are even above COLLOIDS AND SURFACES B-BIOINTERFACES. The impact factors for 2022 have been released today, and it is both expected and unexpected that BIO has no impact factor.

The POLYMER series has a total citation of 5602 with an impact factor of 4.855, while ELECTRONIC has a total citation of 4185 with an impact factor of 4.494. BIO has a citation of 8347, but no impact factor.

ACS AMI transferred to BIO sub-journals. The efficiency is very high, as review comments are provided two weeks after submission, with three reviewers. The total time from submission to acceptance is one month. The BIO journal started publishing in July 2018 and has been running for five years. It is still listed in ESCI and has not been included in SCIE. For whatever reason, this is probably the longest and most difficult journal for ACS to enter SCI, which is puzzling. In terms of article level and depth, similar second-tier journals like ACS APPLIED NANO MATERIALS and ACS BIOMATERIALS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING are recommended. The articles in these three journals can be considered together. However, APPLIED BIO is not in SCI, and considering the current situation, the possibility of receiving an impact factor this year is very low, which is very detrimental to the quality and development of future submissions.
